How to Play Powerball
Playing Powerball is easy and exciting! Follow these simple steps to get in on the action.
1. Get a Playslip
You can get a Powerball playslip from any authorized lottery retailer. Each playslip has multiple play areas, allowing you to play several sets of numbers at once.
2. Pick Your Numbers
You need to pick two sets of numbers:
- White Balls: Choose five numbers from 1 to 69.
- Powerball: Choose one number from 1 to 26. This is the red Powerball.
You can either pick your own numbers or use the "Quick Pick" option to have the numbers randomly selected for you.
3. Decide on Power Play
For an extra dollar per play, you can add the "Power Play" option. This can multiply your non-jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 4, 5, or even 10 times! The multiplier is randomly drawn before each Powerball drawing.
4. Purchase Your Ticket
A standard Powerball ticket costs $2 per play. If you add the Power Play option, it's $3 per play. Give your completed playslip and payment to the retailer, and you will receive your official Powerball ticket.
5. Check the Winning Numbers
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 PM ET. You can check the winning numbers on the official Powerball website, on television, or at any lottery retailer.
